The annual Garden Competition is our tradition of recognizing Newport residents and business owners who nurture their gardens and flower containers throughout the city. When the Garden Competition is going on, Newport looks extra beautiful.
It’s open to anyone and everyone! The city is divided into three residential zones and includes awards to newcomers, small and large businesses, B&Bs, senior and family housing, and community. After the competition closes, a team goes around and photographs each entry. After that, another team goes around and judges each entry.
UPDATE
We are now accepting applications for the Newport in Bloom 2022 Garden Competition. All entries must be submitted by July 24, 2022. Newport in Bloom will present first, second, third & honorable mention awards in 3 categories for 3 residential districts and for 3 city-wide business categories at an Award Ceremony on August 23rd at the Tennis Hall of Fame.
How to Enter
You can submit your application multiple ways:
- Download and print an application and
- Mail it to Newport in Bloom, Box 773, Newport, RI 02840 or
- E-mail your application to kmcmahan2@cox.net or newportinbloom.ri@gmail.com
- Complete the online application form
